Scottish Rally Championship returns to TV screens

Highlights from the opening three rounds of the 2018 ARR Craib MSA Scottish Rally Championship (SRC) will be broadcast on leading sports channel FrontRunner next week.

The one hour programme will be broadcast three times at the end of next week, with the show first airing at 2pm on Saturday 9th June before another viewing at the same time on Sunday 10th and a final showing at 4pm on Monday 11th June.

The programme will be produced by the SRC’s media partners Beck Sport Media, and aims to show off the talent and the action in the Scottish Rally Championship’s 50th anniversary year.

SRC Chairman Gordon Adam is delighted to see the championship return to TV screens for the first time since 2014.

“We are all very excited to sit down next weekend and re-live all the action from the opening three rounds of the Scottish Rally Championship,” Adam said.

“The championship has a fantastic reputation in Scotland for its fierce yet friendly battles, but it’s important we show that to a wider audience. That’s why this deal with Front Runner makes so much sense both for the championship and of course for our competitors and sponsors who get to see themselves on TV.

“FrontRunner is a leading sports channel with a large array of motorsport programmes already in their schedule, so it made perfect sense for us to target our programme towards an audience that already exists. We hope this can be the start of a successful partnership.”

The hour-long highlights programme is the perfect way to get in the mood for the next round of the 2018 ARR Craib MSA Scottish Rally Championship, the Dunoon Presents Argyll Rally.

Returning to the calendar for the first time in over a decade in 2017, the Argyll Rally organisers have worked tirelessly to produce both a nostalgic and a challenging route which boasts a very low 75 road miles with close to 45 competitive stage miles on offer in the forests.

The battle on those stages is finely poised too with just three points separating Donnie MacDonald, Andrew Gallacher and Mark McCulloch as the quest to be crowned 2018 champion speeds past its midway point.

The 2018 ARR Craib MSA Scottish Rally Championship is partnered by Pirelli Motorsport, Reis Motorsport Insurance and KNC Groundworks Ltd.

The championship consists of seven forest events across Scotland, taking in over 300 competitive stage miles.

The next round of the SRC is the Dunoon Presents Argyll Rally on Saturday 23rd June.
