Group A Challenge for Dale Robertson

Duns driver Dale Robertson is back in the ARR Craib MSA Scottish Rally Championship for 2016 in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX after missing the 2015 season. Robertson ran his Mitsubishi in the Group N class back then, but will be competing in a Group A car and for the overall positions this year. Dale is up for the challenge.

He said: “We aim to try and challenge for the top three this year as we have put the car into group A and we managed top 6 results overall in a Group N car in 2014. The plan for the Snowman will be to get back into the car in the first few stages and hope to set top 5 times by the end of the rally.”

Apart from the changes to the car that have led to it now being in class 11, not that much of the team behind Dale’s rallying has changed, although he will be partnered by experienced co-driver Stuart Loudon for the first time on the Snowman.

“The car has had a good pre-season check with us moving into class 11. We will have Stuart Loudon on the notes for the Snowman so that will be a new challenge on stage 1 as we have never sat together. We have the same team of lads who work on the car along with Dom Buckley’s for the bigger jobs on it.. All in all we are ready for a great season and hope to be challenging the top of the leaderboard.”

Robertson gets his 2016 SRC campaign underway on the Arnold Clark Jury’s Inn Snowman Rally next weekend in Inverness.
