SRC Competitor Forum this Saturday – Motorsport UK Scottish Rally Championship

28th September 2015

SRC Competitor Forum this Saturday

Below is an email which was sent out last night to SRC registered competitors & officials. This meeting is aimed at all competitors and event organisers with an interest in rallying in Scotland, and the Scottish Rally Championship. If you want to come along then please contact Susan and let us know so we can plan for the numbers coming.

Thanks to everyone who has been in touch with feedback following the cancellation of the McRae Forest Stages. From that it’s clear that some are planning to use their accommodation in Perth anyway on the Saturday night. So it seems a good opportunity for a get together and discussion on how you would see the Championship developing in 2016 and beyond. Some good points have already been made. SRC had originally planned to hold forums after the end of season in the north and the south, and it seems appropriate to bring that forward.

A venue is already in place for Saturday 3rd at the Holiday Inn Express in Perth as this would have been Rally HQ and this gives us the chance to possibly help with the inevitable cancellation fees which Coltness Car Club now face.

We anticipate starting around 2pm, with discussions lasting no more than 2 hours and finishing before the Scotland v. South Africa Rugby World Cup match.

What we need now is an idea of numbers so please contact Susan Shanks, your Competitor Rep on susanshanks@srcweb.co.uk or 07841 374595 if you are thinking of coming along and need more information. If you have a specific issue you wish to have discussed, please email so it can be put it on the agenda.

We would stress that we need to look forward, new safety regulations are here to stay and forestry costs are unlikely to come down. Our events have dealt extremely well with all the extra work involved this year and our Championship is looked on favourably by many outwith Scotland.

This is your chance, bring your ideas along, they will be most welcome.”

Regards
